Salamis Beach

Salamis Beach stretches along the coast adjacent to the famous Salamis archaeological ruins, offering a unique combination of swimming and ancient history. The long sandy beach runs for several kilometres north of Famagusta, with the ancient columns and ruins of Salamis visible from the shoreline. The water is clean and shallow, with a sandy seabed that slopes gently into the Mediterranean.

The beach is partially managed by the adjacent Salamis Bay Conti Resort, which offers paid facilities, but there are also free public access points. The proximity to the ruins makes it popular for visitors combining a historical excursion with an afternoon of swimming. Scattered Roman columns partially buried in the sand add an atmospheric touch unique to this beach.
