Dipkarpaz (Rizokarpaso)

📍 Dipkarpaz

Dipkarpaz (Rizokarpaso) is the principal village at the far eastern end of the Karpaz Peninsula, serving as the gateway to the national park area and the remote beaches beyond. The village is notable for its mixed community, with a small Greek-speaking community living alongside Turkish Cypriots — one of the few remaining examples of cohabitation in North Cyprus. Both a church and a mosque serve their respective communities.

The village has basic services including restaurants, a small supermarket, a petrol station, and guesthouse accommodation. It is the last significant settlement before the wild tip of the peninsula and the Apostolos Andreas Monastery. The village's location makes it a natural base for exploring the eastern Karpaz, and its modest, authentic character provides a marked contrast to the resort areas of the coast.

Key facts: Gateway to eastern Karpaz · Mixed Greek-speaking and Turkish Cypriot community · Church and mosque · Basic services and guesthouses · Last village before peninsula tip · Near Apostolos Andreas · Authentic character
