⭐ 3.3 / 5.0
Tucked high in the Beşparmak (Five Finger) mountains above Karaman village, Kasaba da Kahvaltı is a beloved local spot for traditional Cypriot serpme kahvaltı — a sprawling spread of village breakfast classics served straight to your table. Expect skillets of sucuk and eggs, local hellim, olives, jams, fresh village bread, honey with kaymak, seasonal fruit and endless çay, all enjoyed on a wooden terrace with sweeping mountain and sea views.
The setting is rustic and homely, run by owner Ayten Cansüngü, and weekends fill up fast with families and friends settling in for a long, lazy breakfast. Outdoor seating, a relaxed pace and that fresh mountain air make it well worth the drive up.
How to get there:
The restaurant is genuinely tucked away in the hills, so directions matter. From the main Kyrenia–Karaman road (Anayol), head up toward Karaman village. Pass Mr Pound Plus on the main road. Just after Mr Pound Plus, turn toward Lapta (Laptaya doğru). Take the 2nd left — not the first (the owners are very clear: "1. sol değil, 2. sol dan içeri"). Follow the small road inland until you reach the restaurant. Look for the Kasaba sign and cowboy logo.
Coordinates: 35.32099° N, 33.27602° E. Plus Code: 87CG+9C6, Karaman 99320. Open in Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/diGxdd8d4jJDMEs48
Good to know:
Closed Tuesdays (Salı günleri kapalı). Weekend reservations strongly recommended — call ahead, especially Saturday and Sunday mornings. Outdoor seating with mountain views. Cash and card generally accepted; bring cash as a backup given the remote location. Best visited mid-morning for the full serpme experience.
